Compress PDF to 100 KB
Get a PDF under 100 KB for government and university portals. Tries stronger settings until it fits, on your device. Free, no watermark.
Runs on your device. Nothing is sent to a server. Balanced and Strong turn pages into images, so text is no longer selectable.
100 KB is a tight limit for a PDF. It is common for single-page uploads such as an ID proof, a signed declaration or a certificate on recruitment and admission portals.
The widget is preset to 100 KB. It re-renders the pages, starting at good quality and stepping down until the file fits. If 100 KB is not realistic for your document, it tells you the smallest size it reached.
Who asks for this size
| Where 100 KB is required | Typical rule |
|---|---|
| Single-page ID or address proof on recruitment portals | Under 100 KB, PDF or JPG |
| Signed declaration or undertaking | 50 KB to 100 KB |
| Caste, income or category certificate uploads | Under 100 KB to 200 KB |
| Legacy forms with a per-file cap | Under 100 KB |
What to expect
A one-page scan reaches 100 KB at roughly 96 dpi in colour, or 120 dpi in greyscale, and stays readable. Two or three text pages usually fit; a ten-page photo-heavy brochure will not.
The pages become images, so text is no longer selectable. For form uploads this is accepted everywhere.
Tips
- Split first when only one page is needed. A two-page PDF at 100 KB has half the quality of a one-page PDF at 100 KB.
- Scan in greyscale if the portal allows it; the tool also switches to greyscale on its last passes.
- Check the result on your screen before uploading. If a stamp or a signature is hard to read, try 150 KB.
Questions
What if the PDF cannot reach 100 KB?
The tool shows the smallest file it managed and says so. Split the document or remove pages, then compress again.
Does it keep the page size?
Yes. A4 stays A4 and letter stays letter; only the image resolution inside the page changes.
Is the PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The pages are rendered and rebuilt in your browser using the same libraries a desktop app would use.
Will the text still be searchable?
No. At this size the pages are stored as images. Use the Light level on the main Compress PDF page to keep selectable text with a smaller saving.
