## How it works

Drop a video, choose a preset and press Compress video. Chat apps gives the smallest file at 640p, Web is 720p for sites and social, HD keeps 1080p but lighter. Tick Remove audio for silent clips.

Compression runs inside your browser with the same engine used by professional tools, converted to run on the web. It is slower than a server, roughly real-time on a laptop, but your video never leaves your device. Keep the tab open until it finishes.

## Questions

### How small will my video get?

Phone recordings usually shrink 70 to 90% with the Chat apps preset and 50 to 75% with Web, because phones record at very high bitrates.

### Is there a size or length limit?

200 MB per file, which is about two minutes of 4K phone video or ten minutes of 1080p. For longer videos trim first or use a desktop app.

### Why does it say loading 31 MB?

That is the video engine, downloaded once from a public code CDN and then cached. Your video is never uploaded anywhere.
