## What to expect

A 12-megapixel JPG typically compresses to 500 KB at 85 to 90 percent quality with the original dimensions kept. Fine textures such as grass or hair are where you would notice first, and at this size you will not.

RAW-like PNG exports from design tools compress the most, often from 8 MB to under 500 KB.

- Choose 500 KB for anything you may need to crop later; 100 KB or 200 KB for final uploads.

### Is there any visible difference at 500 KB?

On screens, no. Side by side at 200 percent zoom you may see slightly softer noise in shadows.

### Can I compress HEIC photos to 500 KB?

Yes. HEIC from iPhone is decoded on your device and saved as JPG under 500 KB.

### Why is my file already smaller than the result?

The tool never enlarges a file. If the original is below the target, it is saved again at high quality and may end up almost the same size.

### Will the colours change?

No. The colour profile is handled by the browser and the JPG is written in standard sRGB.
